Just finished a great sail
Just finished a great sail: Pier 66 Fort Lauderdale/WestPalm/Cape Canaveral (where Vicki took off with 7&7’s)/Saint Augustine. Crew was terrific—Jori/Vicki, the college buddies; Scot/Charlie—the teenagers; Denny and I—Oregon High School lives on! Downwind all the way—15 mph or more. Left Cape Canaveral at 6:00 pm winds of 25+, seas six to nine feet added to the excitement but turned downwind and the teenagers turned two well sailed night shifts. Arrived in Saint Augustine—Camachee Harbor—mid day Saturday meeting with the “girls crew” for a night out in the old section of saint Augustine.
Camachee brought back fond memories—five years ago Niki, Liza, Kristine and I obtained our American Sailing Association basic keel boat certificate from the CC dealer at Camachee Harbor, the dealer then rented me the Windy Gill, a CC110 for ten weeks. loved the boat, bought a slip at Conch Harbor and the rest is history.
Had a round of ports and jazz at Stogies—our favorite Saint Augustine spot in 2004—somethings never change!
